About this ladder
- The detour
- NAMED and ROCKS differ in every place, but par is 6. One move has to go sideways - changing a letter that was already right, or changing the same letter twice - before the ladder can finish.
- The wide rung
- The par route passes through FACES, where 20 different single-letter changes all make real words - more than at any other rung on this ladder. Most of them lead nowhere useful.
